- Vivaspin® 500 and 2
Vivaspin® centrifugal concentrators are disposable ultrafiltration units for the concentration of most macromolecules – including proteins, viruses, nucleic acids and nanoparticles – thanks to a broad range of molecular weight cut-offs (MWCO) and membrane materials.
Vivaspin® 2 is recommended for concentration or diafiltration of initial sample volumes up to 3 mL. It features a vertical membrane for high-speed filtration, with volume graduations on the housing to allow easy monitoring of ultrafiltration progress. Vivaspin® 2 combines the speed of the original Vivaspin® products with low internal surface and membrane areas, and a choice between polyethersulfone (PES), Hydrosart® regenerated cellulose (HY/RC) or cellulose triacetate (CTA) materials, to ensure superior recoveries of any target molecule, especially from very dilute samples. The integral dead-stop pocket enables more than 100-fold concentration factors while eliminating the risk of sample loss and simplifying retentate retrieval. Optionally, the concentrator can simply be inverted for pipette-free collection of the entire retentate sample into the included collection tube.
