DMEM with Glutamine XL, w/ stable L-Ananyl-Gln

DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) is a widely used basal medium for supporting the growth of many different mammalian cells. Cells successfully cultured in DMEM include primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells. We offer a variety of DMEM modifications for a range of cell culture applications.

Standard, unstabilized solutions of L-glutamine spontaneously break down over time to release cytotoxic amines. Glutamine XL is a stabilized solution that prevents degradation and cytotoxicity, with the benefit of a long shelf life. The incorporated L-alanine protects the unstable alpha amino acid group of L-glutamine. Aminopeptidase within the cells cleaves the dipeptide, gradually releasing both L-glutamine and L- alanine for use.
