Bile Salts No. 3 is a refined bile salt composed mainly of Sodium Cholate and Sodium Deoxycholate. It is used in culture media as an agent to isolate enteric organisms and coliforms, given its excellent inhibiting capacity of Gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococci and Staphylococci.
